Let me begin by saying Ken and I are well informed and experienced in buying and selling homes both as owners and with an agent. We have a number of agents we have worked with on transactions but have never once have entertained the thought of having anyone but the Tomashowski Team to be our help on the mountain. After years of visiting Mount Charleston and wondering what it would be like to own a home there, my wife and I have finally closed on a home, and we couldn’t be more delighted. Now, no one will ever convince me that the home-buying process is easy or fun, there are so many things that you go through between comparing homes and going through the financing process – and those issues are exacerbated when you consider Mount Charleston, and it can seem daunting and overwhelming at times. In the end, however, it all came together, and we have so much to thank Katie Corr and the Mount Charleston Realty group for. Her knowledge and experience with Mount Charleston made all of our many steps that much easier. Simple questions, like where does the water come from, what cell phone service is best, who is familiar enough with the Mountain to offer a mortgage, who do you call when the first insurance company absolutely refuses to quote you a price for the mountain (absolutely true, believe it or not…); she had the answers for those and more. I’ve never lived on septic or used propane, but Katie lives there, and she knows. I always have a hard time finding good contractors to fix things, and was worried about who would work on the Mountain; well, Katie knows. Small issues and large, those that I can’t remember and those I’ll never forget, Katie was able to answer our questions and lead us through the process as smoothly as possible. It’s not just her smarts, but also her personality – I’m grumpy, I’m temperamental, and I frustrate easily. Well, Katie is the exact opposite. She was always positive, she was able to reassure us when we needed that, and she also kept us prepared by giving us a heads up on the next steps we needed to take. I also greatly appreciated her response time, I hate to be a bother, but she always made me feel like I was her only client, ready to answer a call, text, or email at anytime (she even took a 3 am tirade in stride…) Katie is patient, positive, even-keeled, and prepared for every step along the way; we’re very happy she was our realtor for this purchase, and we’re even happier that now she’s one of our new neighbors.
